Description

This is a graceful vintage Tuareg Zinder Cross pendant. It measures just over 1 1/2" (3,85 cm) tall, just under 1/2" (1,3 cm) wide, and 1,1 cm deep. The Zinder Cross takes its name from the city of Zinder in southern Niger. It is a regional version of the Southern Cross motif that is often found in Tuareg jewelry. This pendant is crafted from white metal and features conical finials and incised outer ridges. All of its surfaces have been smoothed with wear. The Zinder Cross is traditionally worn with the multilevel finial pointing down.
