This is a lot of 4 VINTAGE SILVER & GENUINE LAPIS INLAY TURKOMAN BEADS from Afghanistan. Each bead measures approximately just over 7/8” (22,5 mm) long and has a diameter of just under 3/4” (19 mm). The beads each feature 8 round genuine, undyed and untreated lapis inlays, wirework, and repousse- sheet granulation decorations. While they are not gold washed, they have a slight rose gold color, probably due to the copper alloy in the silver and solder. The silver is approximately 800 grade. We came across a bunch of old stock beads, probably about 20 + years old, and bought everything as beads with genuine stone inlay have not been made for many, many years. Cutting and polishing pieces of this size is tedious work and so genuine stones were replaced by resins that are far easier and more cost effective to work with. Please note that all of our beads are handmade and we use a stock photo. While the beads are mostly alike, small variations in the silver work, size, and colors of the natural lapis stones will vary.
